
FLORIDA — One person was killed and another was critically injured in a motorcycle crash Friday morning in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just before noon at the intersection of Union Avenue and County Road 308 near Crescent City.
Troopers said a 20-year-old driver of a sedan was traveling south on Union Avenue when they attempted to cross the intersection at a stop sign. At the same time, a motorcycle carrying two people, both 66 years old, was traveling east on County Road 308.
Authorities said the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the sedan. The impact caused both riders to be ejected from the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital with critical, traumatic injuries.
The driver of the sedan was not reported injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
