FLORIDA — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday evening in a crash on State Road 681 near Venice, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of En Theos Lane and SR 681.
Investigators said a van driven by a 32-year-old Cape Coral man was preparing to turn left from En Theos Lane onto SR 681. At the same time, a motorcycle was traveling south on SR 681, approaching the intersection’s flashing yellow signal.
Authorities said the van entered the intersection in front of the motorcycle, and the two vehicles collided.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. Troopers said the rider has not yet been positively identified.
The crash remains under investigation.
