SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities are investigating a deadly assault that occurred early Sunday morning at a Marion County nightclub.
According to Marion County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Tammy Erwin, the incident happened at Club H2O, located along the 4500 block of West Highway 76 in Marion.
Deputies responded to the scene following reports of an assault. Officials confirmed the incident resulted in a fatality, though few details have been released.
Several community members said a woman died in the incident. The Marion County Coroner’s Office has been contacted, and Coroner Jerry Richardson said additional information is expected to be released at a later time.
At this time, law enforcement officials say there is no further information available as the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities have not said whether any arrests have been made.
