PENNSYLVANIA — A man is dead following a hit-and-run incident Friday night in Harrisburg, according to city police.
Officers with the Harrisburg Police Department were called to the 1900 block of Paxton Street around 9 p.m. for a report of a person struck by a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the roadway. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police say the vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene before authorities arrived. The identity of the victim has not been released.
The Harrisburg Police Traffic Safety Unit is leading the investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the fleeing vehicle to come forward.
