OKLAHOMA — A woman was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run crash in southwest Oklahoma City, according to police.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 6 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest 59th Street and Western Avenue.
Investigators said the woman was struck by a vehicle, and the driver fled the scene. Police believe the vehicle involved is a dark-colored car, though no further description has been released.
The victim’s identity has not been made public.
Officers spent several hours at the scene gathering evidence, speaking with witnesses and using a drone as part of the investigation.
Southwest 59th Street was shut down between Shields Boulevard and Western Avenue while authorities investigated. The roadway has since reopened.
Police are continuing to search for the driver and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
The investigation remains ongoing.
