LOUISIANA — Authorities are investigating an apparent hit-and-run crash that left a St. Francisville man dead over the weekend.
According to the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office, the body of 25-year-old Delvin Whitaker Jr. was discovered around 7:30 a.m. Sunday along Solitude Road.
Deputies said Whitaker was found lying on the shoulder of the road with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said Whitaker’s family last had contact with him Saturday evening.
Investigators are working to identify the vehicle and driver involved in the incident.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday morning.
