
ILLINOIS — A bicyclist was killed and two women were injured in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning on Chicago’s Southwest Side, according to police.
The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. in the 6300 block of South Kedzie Avenue.
Authorities said a man driving a red SUV was traveling eastbound when he allegedly ignored a traffic signal. The vehicle struck a man riding a bicycle before colliding with a silver car that was heading southbound.
The bicyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 22-year-old woman who was a passenger in the SUV was transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition. A 60-year-old woman in the other vehicle was treated at the scene.
Police said the driver of the SUV fled on foot before officers arrived. No arrests have been announced.
The crash remains under investigation.
