One person dead following hit-and-run in Ohio

OHIO — Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, Lorain and Amherst police responded around 6:30 a.m. to a report of a man down in the roadway in the 1400 block of Cooper Foster Park Road.

Officers arrived to find the man had been hit by a westbound vehicle, which then fled the scene.

Life Care personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The road remained closed for about four hours while investigators collected evidence.

Police have not released any details about the vehicle involved.
