INDIANA — A man has died following a hit-and-run crash on Fort Wayne’s southwest side Friday night, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD).
The crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Covington Road near its intersection with Getz Road.
When officers arrived, they found the victim in critical condition. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have not released any information about a suspect.
However, authorities believe the suspect vehicle is a dark-colored SUV that was traveling westbound at the time of the crash.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area for several hours while the investigation continues.
