FLORIDA — A man is dead following a reported fight early Tuesday morning in Venice, according to the Venice Police Department.
Authorities said officers responded around 6:02 a.m. to the 200 block of South Grove Street. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive adult man.
Police and Venice Fire Rescue personnel began life-saving measures at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead.
Officials said another person believed to be involved in the incident was detained and is being questioned by detectives.
Investigators are treating the case as a homicide.
Police said the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no threat to the public.
Authorities said additional information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
