
OKLAHOMA — A woman has died following a drowning incident at Lake Eufaula on Sunday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Authorities said 53-year-old Roebecca Garrett went underwater while attempting to help two minors in distress at the 9 South Swim Area of the lake.
Garrett was pulled from the water by others at the scene and transported by emergency medical services to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Garrett’s next of kin has been notified.
No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
