TEXAS — A dirt bike rider was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening near downtown San Antonio, according to police.
The crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Florida Street and Hoefgen Avenue.
Authorities said a man riding a dirt bike was traveling southbound on Hoefgen Avenue when he collided with a Mazda traveling westbound on Florida Street. Police said the Mazda driver had stopped at a stop sign before entering the intersection but did not see the dirt bike, leading to the crash.
The 38-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. His identity has not been released.
The driver of the Mazda remained at the scene and was not found to be intoxicated, police said. No charges are expected to be filed.
The crash remains under investigation.
