One person dead following dirt bike crash in Alabama

ALABAMA — One person is dead following a crash involving a dirt bike and a car in Russell County on Monday night, officials said.

According to County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr., 42-year-old Amy Rose of Seale was riding on the back of a dirt bike without a helmet when the collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Tarver Road.

Her husband, who was driving the dirt bike, suffered minor injuries.

Rose was transported by ambulance to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where she was pronounced dead. Her body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy.

The crash remains under investigation.
