OHIO — A fatal crash involving multiple vehicles shut down Interstate 270 South near northeast Columbus Monday morning, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. when a 2015 Honda Accord abruptly changed lanes near the 30.2-mile marker.
While changing lanes, the Honda struck the driver’s side mirror of a 2008 Buick Lacrosse and a 2016 Peterbilt tractor trailer.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:45 a.m. Their identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition, while the driver of the Buick was not injured.
I-270 South beyond State Route 161 remained closed for several hours as investigators worked at the scene.
