One person dead following crash on Ohio interstate

OHIO — A truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 77 in Ohio Saturday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 3:35 p.m. when a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia semi, driven by Ernest Reiner of Warren, Ohio, veered into the median while traveling northbound.

Reiner then crossed into the southbound lanes before striking a guardrail and going over a hill. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

Multiple agencies, including the Ohio State Highway Patrol, local fire departments, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, responded.

The crash remains under investigation.
