OHIO — A 64-year-old Brunswick man was killed in a car crash on Interstate 77 on New Year’s Day, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Donald Chambers Jr. was inside his disabled GMC in the right lane near mile post 144 when the vehicle was struck by a Toyota Rav 4 around 9:43 p.m.
The Toyota was driven by a 51-year-old man from Parma.
Chambers was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Toyota was treated for minor injuries at Cleveland Clinic Akron General.
Troopers stated the crash remains under investigation but noted the driver of the Toyota failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the incident.
