One person dead following ATV crash into Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI — A 15-year-old girl has died following an ATV accident early Monday morning, authorities confirmed.

Union County Coroner Pam Boman said Ava Colley, a sophomore at Belmont High School, passed away at a hospital in New Albany. Colley had been with family members at the time of the accident.

Emergency crews initially planned to airlift her to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. However, officials said her condition worsened during transport, forcing medics to stop in New Albany, where she was later pronounced dead.

Belmont High School has shared funeral arrangement details with the community. The accident remains under investigation.
