GEORGIA — A four-year-old child was killed in an ATV accident Sunday evening in Forsyth County, authorities said.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department, the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Valley Stream Drive.
A 16-year-old boy from Cumming was driving the ATV with the four-year-old as a passenger.
As the vehicle approached a sharp turn, the driver attempted to brake and steer but was traveling too fast, causing the ATV to overturn.
Both boys were thrown from the vehicle. The four-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The 16-year-old sustained minor injuries and was taken to North Fulton Medical Center for treatment.
Officials said neither boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.
