One person dead, five injured following vehicle crash in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — A three-vehicle crash in Inman left one man dead and five others injured Friday morning, authorities said.

According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. near 5301 Highway 9. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and coroner’s office responded to the scene.

Francisco Jose “Poncho” Ocampo, 41, of Spartanburg, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials confirmed.

The highway patrol said five additional people were injured in the crash. Their conditions have not been released.

The wreck remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
