One person dead, five injured following vehicle crash in Indiana

INDIANA — One person was killed and five others were injured in a vehicle accident Thursday afternoon near the Madison County/Grant County line, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 1900 North and 200 West, approximately two miles west of Madison-Grant Jr./Sr. High School and State Road 9.

Authorities said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Five others sustained injuries, and three of them were airlifted from the scene for medical treatment.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate the crash and is working to identify those involved and determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
