OHIO — A juvenile is dead and five others were injured following a shooting at a party held at a short-term rental in east Columbus early Friday morning, according to police.
Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to a residence in the 800 block of Wilson Avenue, near East Livingston Avenue, around 2:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Police said they found three individuals at the scene with gunshot wounds.
Three additional victims later arrived at local hospitals with gunshot injuries.
According to Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert, the six victims included two juveniles and four adults. One of the juveniles was pronounced dead at a hospital at 3:09 a.m. The other victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said the suspect arrived after the party had already started. No further details have been released, and the motive remains unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
