
FLORIDA — One person was killed and eight others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 9 a.m. near Northwest 103rd Street and Northwest 7th Avenue.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found multiple people hurt.
Officials said one man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Fire Rescue personnel evaluated eight patients. Five of them were transported to local hospitals for treatment, while three others declined to be taken to a hospital.
Video from the scene showed several vehicles with heavy damage, debris scattered across the intersection and into a nearby gas station. One man was seen lying on the ground before being placed on a stretcher and transported by ambulance.
Traffic homicide detectives are investigating what caused the crash.
Authorities have not released further details as the investigation continues.
