TENNESSEE — A two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in northeast Memphis left one man dead and another hospitalized in critical condition, according to the Memphis Police Department.
The crash occurred just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Jackson and Wales avenues.
Police said one man was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was rushed to Regional One Health in critical condition.
According to investigators, one vehicle was traveling northbound on Jackson Avenue when it ran a red light and struck a second vehicle that was traveling southbound on Jackson and attempting to turn east onto Wales Avenue with a green arrow.
The investigation is ongoing. No further details have been released.
