PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania State Police say a woman is in critical condition and a man is dead following a shooting at a home in Quarryville early Thursday morning.
Troopers were called to the 100 block of East State Street around 1:20 a.m. for a reported domestic disturbance.
“After Troopers arrived on scene, an individual was observed through a window lying on the ground motionless. Troopers immediately made entry into the residence and located the 30-year-old female victim, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Troopers rendered aid to the victim until EMS arrived on scene and transported her to an area hospital,” the PSP statement said.
Inside the home, police found 34-year-old Marcus Taltoan dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“Through investigation by (the) Lancaster Criminal Investigation Unit, it was determined Marcus Taltoan shot the victim multiple times before shooting himself,” authorities said.
The woman remains hospitalized in critical condition.
