INDIANA — One person is dead and another is in critical condition following a shooting at Tillman Park late Monday night.
Fort Wayne police responded to reports of gunfire around 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of South Hanna Street and East Tillman Road.
A second 911 caller indicated there may be a victim lying in a parking lot.
When officers arrived, they found two male victims. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said there had been a large gathering in the park shortly before the shooting. City parks close daily at 11 p.m., according to officials.
At this time, no suspects have been identified, but authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Detectives remained at the scene into the early morning hours, collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222, Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867, or submit tips through the P3 Tips app.
