VIRGINIA — A Maryland man was killed Friday morning when his vehicle ran off Interstate 95 and struck a tree in Prince George County.
According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 8 a.m. on the southbound side of I-95 near the 37-mile marker. A Ford pickup truck hauling a trailer left the roadway and collided with a tree.
The driver, identified as 64-year-old Randall Howells of Indian Head, Maryland, died at the scene.
One southbound lane remains closed as crews from the Virginia Department of Transportation and Prince George Fire and EMS continue response and cleanup efforts.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
