One person dead after vehicle strikes tree in Ohio

OHIO — A 17-year-old Springfield girl died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 5:36 a.m. on the 6400 block of Fairfield Pike, according to Clark County Communications.

The Springfield Patrol Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the vehicle, a Dodge Stratus, veered off the road and struck a tree.

The driver, Abigail Campbell of Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
