
FLORIDA — A 76-year-old man from Lamont died Sunday after a crash in Taylor County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 3:50 p.m. on Ecofina River Road, just north of Leroy Tedder Grade.
According to investigators, the man was driving a pickup truck when the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Troopers said the man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities said the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Fire Rescue, and Survival Flight also assisted at the scene.
