KENTUCKY — One person has died following a crash between a scooter and a vehicle Tuesday morning in Newport.
The collision happened around 9:56 a.m. at the intersection of Monmouth Street and New Linden Road, according to Newport Police.
Investigators said the vehicle was turning from Monmouth Street onto New Linden Road when it struck a scooter traveling north through the intersection.
The scooter rider was taken to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Their identity has not yet been released.
Police said video footage from the area confirmed how the crash occurred. The investigation remains ongoing.
