FLORIDA — A 71-year-old man died after his lawn mower was struck by a Dodge Dakota on County Road 222 west of Northeast 9th Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred while both vehicles were traveling east on CR-222. Authorities said a 36-year-old Ocala man driving the Dodge Dakota attempted to overtake the lawn mower, resulting in the crash.
The lawn mower was reportedly operating without lights at the time. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
