OHIO — A 58-year-old Illinois man lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 35 Friday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Authorities said Slavisa Jovanovic, of Western Springs, Illinois, was driving a Mercedes westbound on the highway shortly after 10:15 p.m. when his vehicle veered off the right side of the road and collided with a tree.

Jovanovic was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
