LOUISIANA — A woman died Wednesday morning following a crash involving a train and a vehicle near the Iberville Parish and West Baton Rouge Parish line, according to officials.
The crash occurred along La. 1 near the Dow Chemical plant in Addis.
Authorities said the woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Emergency responders from the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office, the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police responded to the scene.
Officials reported that the crash was called in just before 7 a.m. Southbound traffic on La. 1 remained open, while northbound lanes were closed as crews worked at the scene.
The Louisiana State Police is leading the investigation into the crash.
Authorities advised drivers to use alternate routes, including River Road, while the roadway was impacted.
