VIRGINIA — A 19-year-old driver was killed late Friday night after his vehicle ran off VA-288 and crashed into a train, according to Virginia State Police.
Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 10:41 p.m. on May 30.
The crash occurred on the southbound side of VA-288 near Chester Road.
Investigators say a 2024 Ford F-150, driven by David William Stanley, veered off the left side of the roadway, crossed over railroad tracks, and struck an embankment before colliding with a train.
Stanley, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene from his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
