OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a Toledo woman early Saturday morning.

According to troopers, the incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. on July 20 along N. Holland Sylvania Road near Huntingfield Boulevard.

Investigators say 31-year-old Emmalee J. Jackman was traveling southbound on a GoTrax G3 Plus electric scooter when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene, and Jackman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating the vehicle involved.

Investigators believe it may have sustained damage to the right front headlight and is missing the right passenger-side mirror. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Toledo Post at 419-865-5544.

N. Holland Sylvania Road was closed for approximately 90 minutes during the initial investigation but has since reopened.

The crash remains under active investigation.
