FLORIDA — A driver who was fleeing from Titusville Police died after crashing a vehicle into a palm tree, fence, and sign, according to authorities.
Police said the incident involved a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling southbound on Barna Avenue near Nickalaus Drive.
During the pursuit, officers deployed a stop-stick, a device designed to slowly deflate a vehicle’s tires. After striking the device, the car traveled on and off the roadway before crashing.
The vehicle struck a palm tree, a fence, and a sign along Barna Avenue. The driver was transported to Parrish Hospital following the crash, where they were pronounced dead. The driver’s identity has not been released.
The Titusville Police Department said the incident remains under investigation and no additional details were immediately available.
