The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to hit a utility pole and the Town of Daleville sign before coming to rest on its side.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the male passenger dead.
The female occupant was transported to a hospital in serious condition but is expected to recover.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) confirmed that all lanes of IN-32 were closed in both directions between Spring Street and Walnut Street following the crash.
