One person dead after crashing into parked vehicles in Florida

FLORIDA — The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 65-year-old Orlando man has died after driving his SUV off the roadway and into two unoccupied vehicles.

According to an incident report, the man was traveling northbound on Goldenrod Road just north of Bryan Road when he ran off the road. Troopers said the SUV struck a sign and a fence before continuing into a nearby parking lot.

The vehicle then collided with a parked pickup truck and a sedan. Both vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the crash.

The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

FHP said the cause of the crash is unknown and remains under investigation.
