
TEXAS — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian Thursday night in Jasper County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on State Highway 63, about three miles west of Jasper near the Curtis Community and the intersection of FM 2799.
Officials said a person on foot was struck by a late-model Lincoln Navigator that was traveling west on the highway.
The pedestrian died as a result of the crash. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
DPS is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
