TENNESSEE — A Nashville man was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Gallatin Pike South, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the 1300 block of Gallatin Pike.
According to officials, 41-year-old Rustin Needer had called a family member and said he was walking home after his vehicle broke down near Gallatin Pike and Briley Parkway.
While walking in the northbound lanes of Gallatin Pike, Needer was hit by a Buick Encore. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained on site and cooperated with police. As of Sunday afternoon, no charges had been filed. The incident remains under investigation.
