One person dead after being struck by vehicle in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was killed early Sunday morning in a pedestrian crash on U.S. Highway 21, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Corporal David Jones reported the incident occurred near the intersection of Broad River Boulevard at approximately 12:05 a.m.

Two vehicles—a 2005 Dodge SUV and a 2011 Jeep SUV—were traveling southbound when both struck a pedestrian in the roadway.

Both drivers were unharmed, but the pedestrian died at the scene. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
