
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person is dead and another is injured following a crash in Laurens County early Thursday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the collision happened around 4 a.m. on U.S. Highway 76 at Holly Grove Church Road.
Troopers reported that a Nissan pickup truck traveling east on U.S. Highway 76 struck two pedestrians who were in the roadway at the time of the crash.
One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene. The second pedestrian was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their condition has not been released.
No additional details about the driver or potential charges were immediately available.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
