PENNSYLVANIA — A 46-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle while addressing a mechanical issue along a busy road.
According to Washington County Coroner Tim Warco, the victim, identified as Brian Everhart, had parked a commercial truck to the right of the fog line on the entrance ramp from U.S. 22 to I-576 when he was struck.
Warco said Everhart had pulled over to investigate the problem with the truck at the time of the crash.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission reported that the scene was cleared and the ramp reopened to traffic by 6:30 p.m.
