
PENNSYLVANIA — Police are investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles and a pedestrian in York County.
According to Fairview Township Police Department, officers responded to the crash around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of State Route 177 and Bull Road/Traver Drive.
Investigators said the crash began when one vehicle rear-ended another while traveling south on Route 177. The impact caused one of the vehicles to strike a 78-year-old man who was on the shoulder of the road.
Police said the man had crossed from Bull Road to Traver Drive before being hit.
The victim was flown by medical helicopter to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity. The crash remains under investigation.
