PENNSYLVANIA — Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a vehicle in East Allegheny early Saturday morning.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of East Ohio Street and East Street.
Officers arrived to find the victim, identified as 58-year-old Trung Nguyen, lying in the middle of the road with severe head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing Nguyen exit a silver pickup truck traveling eastbound on East Ohio Street before the same vehicle hit him.
The driver then fled the scene toward Madison Avenue.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s Violent Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
Authorities have not released further details but said updates will be provided as the case develops.
