OKLAHOMA — Authorities shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 169 in Owasso on Wednesday morning following a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
According to officials, the crash occurred between 86th Street North and 96th Street North. Police confirmed the deadly incident in a post on social media.
Officers responding to the scene closed both southbound lanes of the highway, causing traffic to back up to at least 96th Street North.
Authorities said the crash happened near an area where lanes narrow and shift due to an ongoing construction project between 66th Street North and 86th Street North along Highway 169.
The speed limit in that construction zone has been reduced to 55 miles per hour.
No additional details about the pedestrian or the circumstances surrounding the crash have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
