OHIO — A tragic accident claimed the life of a 6-year-old girl Tuesday evening after she was struck by a vehicle in Montgomery County, authorities confirmed.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and medics responded to the intersection of Marlay Road and Briar Place at approximately 7:45 p.m. following reports that a child had been hit by a car.
Upon arrival, deputies found the young girl suffering from serious injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses at the scene told investigators that the child had run into the street from behind a stopped vehicle and into the path of an oncoming car.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident.
