
OHIO — A man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road in northeast Columbus late Sunday night, according to police.
The crash happened around 10:43 p.m. on Cleveland Avenue, just north of Green Apple Avenue, in the city’s Northland area.
Investigators said 81-year-old Abdullahi Farah was crossing the road when a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Sport traveling south on Cleveland Avenue struck him.
Farah suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Authorities said he was pronounced dead at 12:26 a.m. Monday.
Police said the driver remained at the scene following the crash.
The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit responded and is continuing to investigate the incident.

Farah’s death was the second fatal pedestrian crash reported in Columbus Sunday night and early Monday morning, according to authorities.
