OHIO — A 9-year-old boy died Saturday evening after being struck by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on State Route 7, about half a mile south of Beaver Local High School.
Authorities say the child was riding his bike when he was hit by the truck.
Emergency responders from the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, St. Clair Township Police, and OSHP arrived at the scene.
The West Point Fire Department also responded with an ambulance.
The boy was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the fatal accident.
