OHIO — A man in his 30s was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning on Cleveland’s west side, according to police.
The Cleveland Police said the fatal crash is being investigated by the Cleveland Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit.
Officers responded around 2:45 a.m. to the 13900 block of Lorain Avenue after receiving a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 30s lying unconscious in the roadway.
The victim was transported by Cleveland EMS to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to police, preliminary information indicates the man was walking along Lorain Avenue when an unknown vehicle, believed to be speeding, lost control and struck him. The vehicle then fled the scene before officers arrived.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cleveland Police.
