OHIO — A woman died Tuesday evening after being struck and dragged by a pickup truck while crossing Cleveland Avenue in north Columbus, according to police.
Officers said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Oakland Park Avenue. The woman was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a red pickup truck.
Police said the victim was dragged about 290 feet before the truck continued north on Cleveland Avenue without stopping.
The woman was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m.
